FAQ

WEDDING MAKEUP

Do you travel to my venue on the day?

Yes. See below for any additional travel charges.

Are travel charges included?

If you have booked a package travel is included up to a 50mile radius round trip.

Otherwise there is an additional charge of 50p per mile form CO7.

Do you have a minimum or can I book you for myself the bride only?

I do have a minimum of bride plus 3 during peak wedding season April-September.

But If you are getting married out of peak season It is best to fill in the contact form to email me & discuss your booking.

Am I able to book you for bridesmaids only?

Yes, I do have a minimum for this of 4, this can include family and friends and is charged at £80pp plus travel.

This does not include any trial bookings.

What makeup brands do you use?

My kit is huge! I use a large range of luxury makeup brands including Charlotte Tilbury, Nars, Mac, Bobbi brown, Anastasia Beverly Hills and Chanel.

The list goes on!

Do I need a trial?

Trials are not compulsory but I do recommend having one, It is not only a chance to see how your makeup will look but it will also test how well it will last and gives you the opportunity to meet me before your wedding day.

I can also help you with what treatments I would recommend having in the lead up to your day and also possibly some suggestions for products if you need to prep before or touch up throughout the day.

Where would my trial be held?

Your trial will be held at my home salon based in Colchester.

Should I create a timeline for my wedding morning?

You don't need to worry about this as I will do this for you when you come in for your trial.

To give you an idea for timings I usually block out 45mins to an hour with the bride then 30mins per person for anyone else.

I also allow 30mins at the start to set up and 30mins at the end for touch ups.

What other services do you offer?

As a fully qualified beautician I offer a wide range of beauty treatments. If you check out my treatments tab, most treatments are to help prep you for your big day including facials and brow treatments.

Do you offer airbrush makeup?

At the moment this isn't something I offer.

How soon should I consider booking you?

I currently take bookings 2 years ahead. I am usually fully booked for weekends at least 1 year ahead so as soon as you have your wedding date secured with your venue it is best to get in touch.

Can I reserve my date without a deposit?

Unfortunately I cannot reserve any dates without a deposit payment, this is due to the nature of my business and the number of enquires I receive each week.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking with you?

If you need to cancel your wedding day booking it is no problem but unfortunately all deposits are non-refundable. Where possible please give as much notice as you can.

If you cancel less than 2 weeks before your date 100% will be due, if you cancel less than 4 weeks before your date 50% is due, any time before this you will simply just lose the deposit payment.

For trial bookings within my salon a cancellation policy also applies, if you need to re arrange / cancel less than 48 hours before a 50% charge will be applied. If you or anyone you have booked for is unable to make it on the day without giving me notice you will be charged 100% of the service booking fee.

How should I prepare for my trial?

To get the most out of your trial I always suggest my brides to be come into me for their trials with clean skin, but I do like to see a photo of yourself with how you would normally do your makeup day to day and also for a special occasion.

I also suggest creating a folder on your phone and saving any makeup photos from Pinterest / Instagram to show me when you come in. By giving me as much info as possible about your makeup can be really helpful, for example if you wear eyeliner every day you will not want to go without it on your wedding day as you wont feel yourself.

How should I prepare on my wedding morning?

To help prepare you and your skin I have written a helpful blog which you can read through on my blog section.

Should makeup be done before hair?

Ideally yes but it is not necessary. Most hairdressers will prep your hair first, you would then have your makeup done and then go back to have your hair styled.

Will my makeup last all day?

Absolutely! If you read my lovely reviews you will notice the majority of feedback states how well my makeup lasts.

Do you work on Sundays and bank holidays?

Yes, although these days do incur an additional service charge of £50.

How do I book you for my wedding day?

You can fill out the contact form on my home page, otherwise the best way to contact me is through email (Info@leannemarie.co.uk). You can drop me a message on any of my social media platforms, but sometimes these go into a request section and aren't seen for a few days as I don't get notifications.

When contacting me please include your wedding date, location where you plan to get ready, the number needing makeup and also the time of your ceremony.

When do I need to book my wedding makeup trial?

I contact all my confirmed brides in October the year before their wedding date for example if your wedding is in 2020 you will receive an email from me in October 2019.

The email will include a link to my online booking system where you will be able to select a date and time that is convenient for you.

If you require a weekend booking I am usually only able to perform these during less busy periods being Jan - March.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Deposit payments must be paid via bank transfer.

Trial or treatments within my salon can be paid with cash or card.

Wedding day balance must be paid via bank transfer, you will receive an invoice no later than 2 weeks before your wedding.

When is the full balance of my wedding makeup due?

I will send you an invoice by email, you will receive a full breakdown on the costs (trials not included as payment for trials are due on the day you have them).

Full payment is required 2 weeks before your wedding date.

What will happen if you can't make it on my wedding morning?

In the extremely unlikely event that I am unable to make it on the day, then I will do everything possible to find you an alternative make-up artist.

I am in a private group on Facebook full of professional makeup artists where we can call upon each other when needed.

However, if this is not possible then I will give you a full refund of your  deposit/payment.
